Pimax Vision 8K X

J'ai le 8Kx. Je suis le type qui aime jouer avec les réglages et passer du temps à paramétrer. Ce produit est fait pour moi. La qualité d'image est à la hauteur à ce que je m'attendais. Soit excellente et que dire du 200°. Étant satisfait, j'ai commandé le câble plus long ainsi que le système de suivit pour les yeux... Donc à voir sur ces deux sujets. En espérant gagner quelques FPS avec le suivit des yeux.
Je suis conscient que l'ensemble fonctionne en parallèle à d'autre plate forme, tel que Steam VR. J'aurais souhaité un action rapide de Pimax pour orienter les utilisateurs à choisir des réglages en fonction de leurs systèmes plutôt que laisser certain s'engouffrer dans des réglages à plus finir ou du moins laisser l'option d'une auto-configuration possible. Bien que d'excellents forums sont consultables. Soit une position claire de Pimax sur la façon de faire et ce même avant la finalisation de Pimax Expérience qui offrira l'opportunité à l'utilisateur de choisir ça configuration en fonction du système qu'il possède .

Awesome! I use for iRacing (switched from Samsung Odyssey plus, which is a great entry-level/mid-level VR headset) and the Pimax 8kx definitely delivers with my Nvidia 3090 graphics card (can do large FOV and everything on high settings in iRacing with the right setup in PiTool). I don’t really do any other games and have not tried upscale mode yet (don’t need it, as 75Hz is absolutely fine for sim racing), but If you are a sim racer then the Pimax 8kx field of view and resolution makes it the absolute best.

The resolution is so important to me that I let my Vive Pro gather dust when I discovered 4k native res per eye is available. With a RTX 3080 most games are smooth and sharp, and others struggle with FPS as you would expect eg. MSFS.

To achieve perfection (IMO)?

1) Increase the sharp resolution sweet spot
2a) Improve the lenses so that pixels are not visible (Sigh - I still see them / minor screen door effect)
3) Improve the colors and especially the blacks (OLED blacks would be awesome)

wow i am so happy i took a chance with you guys software needs work but my god what a view .have to say some games are a completely new experience i do miss my deep blacks but mind blown ! Thankyou for your work.

The Pimax 8KX is an amazing feat of design and engineering. Its high resolution, wide FOV and features like foveated rendering means that it gives you an experience beyond most other headsets. However, it has flaws that make the product difficult to use. The number one issue: I use glasses, and it’s virtually impossible to get a clear image in both eyes, regardless of the interpupillary distance setting. The unit itself is on the heavy side, and wearing it can be fatiguing. The maximum refresh rate at its natural resolution is only 75 Hz, lower than the 90 Hz of its competitors. Setup was also challenging. There is only a rudimentary quick setup guide for setting up the device, and no illustrations of its hardware features. The software has some obvious bugs (floor height detection often does not work properly). I ordered the Valve Index/base station pair, and the set didn’t work right at first because both base stations were set to Channel 1. It took me many hours of experimentation and web searching before I found the issue. Some of these issues may be solved by software and better packaging design some day, but some, like compatibility for glasses wearers, cannot. These issues mean that the product hard to justify at its price point. I would settle for a lower-end unit, wait for prices to come down, or wait for technically strong alternatives like the HP Reverb G2 (which don’t need base stations) to become available.
