Pimax Customer Care update

We surveyed nearly 500 recent Pimax users to find what's working and what isn't. The visuals scored 4.8/5, and we're making changes to the rest — native SteamVR driver, faster turnaround, replacements that ship first, an EU feedback line pilot, and more.

Watch the video for all the details.

EU feedback hotline pilot

For the month of August, we're opening, as a pilot, a feedback hotline. This number opens every working day for a few hours, and we'll see if the need is enough to warrant a full phone number. More info:

Facial Interface Update

We're shipping two new face masks this year.

For Dream Air users:

  • We've successfully developed the new mask for the Dream Air.
  • This adds more cushion onto your face (both forehead and cheeks) and makes the headset more comfortable for a wider range of face shapes, for longer sessions.
  • You should receive an email from our support team asking you to confirm your current shipping address. Once your address is confirmed, we'll schedule the shipment.
  • Note that, we will be shipping in batches, please rest assured if you haven't received the email yet.

For Dream Air SE users:

We're currently doing a test run with the ProFit mask, with Studioform fabric. This mask is specifically designed for the Dream Air SE, and is a new interface with:
  • Studioform pads (denser foam, weight spread across the cheekbones rather than the brow, better light seal)
  • A reworked shell that sits closer to the face and holds steadier during movement.
The biggest change this brings is eye-relief, as it brings your eyes closer to the lenses. Two things follow from that:
  • Comfort improves, because you're no longer straining to take in the full image from too far back.
  • And you see more of the panel — the visible field of view opens up noticeably. Just to be clear: the rendered FOV is unchanged. The headset draws exactly the same image it did before. You're simply positioned to see more of it.

These units are now being 3D printed and for developed for a test batch. If the feedback is good, we move to injection molding. Not all Dream Air SE users receive a facemask for this pilot phase, but rest assured we're still working on a new mask to fully unlock the full performance of the headset.

Shipping status page added
