Dream Air and Dream Air SE have won people over with their micro-OLED clarity, deep blacks and performance. Now both get a new facial interface, and the headline is simple: you can see more of the panel.
Both new masks put your eyes closer to the lenses, so more of the image comes into view. They are also more comfortable and open up easier access to the USB-C port. Here’s what’s new for each headset, and how to get yours.
Part 1: Dream Air
What’s update
The updated Dream Air mask is designed to help you get more out of the headset’s wide FOV, comfortably, for as long as you want.
-
A closer fit to the lenses. The redesigned shape moves your eyes nearer to the optics, so more of the panel comes into view. The headset renders the same image, and the new mask helps you see more of it.
-
More cushioning on the forehead and cheeks. A larger supported contact area spreads pressure more evenly across your face, with extra attention on the cheekbone area, where pressure tends to build up in longer sessions.
-
Easier USB-C access. The new design opens up access to the USB-C port on top of the headset, so headphones, face-tracking devices and other VR peripherals plug in easily. It’s a great fit for VRChat setups and custom builds.
If you’re buying a Dream Air now
Your Dream Air comes with the updated mask. As we move over to the new version, some units may still arrive with the previous mask, and if yours does, we’ll send the upgraded one separately.
If you already own a Dream Air
We’ll send the updated mask to you. Our support team will email you to confirm your shipping address. Masks ship in batches, so if you haven’t received an email yet, you haven’t been missed. We’ll contact you when it’s your turn.
Part 2: Dream Air SE
What’s update
The ProFit Facial Interface is a completely reworked mask built specifically for the Dream Air SE. Its key change is eye relief: the shell sits closer to your face, which moves your eyes closer to the lenses.
With your eyes closer to the lenses, you see more of what the panel is drawing, so the whole image feels more immersive.
-
A wider visible FOV. The rendered FOV stays the same, and the headset draws exactly the same image it always has. ProFit simply positions you to see more of it. Some users have reported up to 20° more visible FOV from the mask alone, with no change to the optics, hardware or software.
-
A more comfortable fit. The reworked padding spreads the weight across your cheekbones instead of your brow.
-
A better light seal and a steadier fit. The reworked shell stays put when you move.
-
Open USB-C access. ProFit opens up access to the USB-C port on top of the headset.
If you’re buying a Dream Air SE now
Every Dream Air SE you order now comes with the new ProFit mask, so you get the wider visible FOV and the comfort upgrades from day one. The ProFit mask may arrive in a separate box from your headset. Shipping is currently a little slower than usual, and we guarantee your order will ship within two weeks.
If you already own a Dream Air SE
We’ll send the new ProFit mask to existing Dream Air SE owners. Our support team will contact you by email to confirm your shipping address, and we’ll arrange shipment from there.
Can the two masks be swapped?
We developed two separate masks, each designed for its own headset. For the best fit and results, we recommend using the mask made for your headset.
The finishing touch: a wider view for both headsets
Great visuals only matter if you can take them all in. The face interface is the part that decides how much of the image you see, how long you stay comfortable, and how easily you connect your gear. The new masks upgrade all three, and the biggest change is the view.
For Dream Air, the compact headset with the wide FOV and micro-OLED clarity now comes with a mask that brings your eyes closer to the lenses, with more cushioning for long sessions and easier USB-C access for your peripherals.
For Dream Air SE, ProFit brings your eyes closer to the lenses so the micro-OLED clarity and deep blacks you already love fill more of your view, with a comfortable, steady fit.
Together, the new masks give you:
-
A wider view that lets you take in more of the panel
-
More comfort for longer races, flights and exploration
-
Easier connections with open access to the USB-C port
-
A fit made for your headset, designed specifically for Dream Air or Dream Air SE
The panels, optics and performance you love stay the same. The new masks help you get more out of them.
Which headset is right for you?
-
Choose Dream Air for the full micro-OLED experience with a wide FOV in a compact body, now with a mask that opens up your view and adds comfort and easier USB-C access.
-
Choose Dream Air SE for micro-OLED clarity and deep blacks, now with ProFit’s wider visible FOV and a more comfortable fit.
Whichever you pick, it comes with a new mask, and if you already own one, we’ll send yours too. This is the best time to get a Dream Air or Dream Air SE.
